Los Alamos National Laboratory
Total Scattering Group

Welcome ..

The total scattering group is located at the Lujan Neutron Scattering Center operating the neutron scattering instruments NPDF and HIPD.

Total scattering refers to the analysis of Bragg- and diffuse scattering, providing a powerful tool to characterize disordered, nano-crystalline and amorphous materials - check out the science highlights below. Another focus of our group is the promotion of this technique through method and software development as well as outreach and education. Use the links on the left to learn more about the technique and science it enables and click here to learn more about us.
